Cortijo Laurel is a delightful, simple, two storey traditional cottage 5 minutes by car from Frigiliana, sitting in the midst of its own land of olive orchards and commanding a wonderful panoramic view down to the coast with the Mediterranean sea stretching to the horizon and Africa beyond. You can park your car in the private driveway close to the house, just a short distance from the country road. The location is quiet and natural yet so easily accessed from the village and still within walking distance if you enjoy to walk alongside the country road.

The cottage is built into the hillside, so entering the house at the ground level frontdoor, you arrive straight into the open plan living area with kitchen at one end, dining area in the middle, French windows onto the terrace, and living room at the other end. There are books pictures and artifacts, music/radio/CDs, a TV and a powerful wood-burning stove. A staircase descending behind the kitchen area leads to the lower floor where off a central hallway lies the full bathroom, the twin room with French windows onto the orchards below, and the double room on the cool side of the house. All windows have mosquito netting and the bedrooms being on the lower floor remain cool in the summer and are all well ventilated. There are radiators throughout for winter warmth and the log-burning stove in the living room churns out a wonderful enduring heat.

This cosy cottage is appealing in all seasons of the year for 2 - 4 persons, and equally good for long-term rentals and sabbatical escapes or summer holidays if you don’t mind to swim in the sea or use the public open-air pool in Frigiliana.
