El Tajo is a delightful rustic-style house, tucked into the hillside in a quiet and secluded location near La Molineta, between Nerja and Frigiliana. Only 5 minutes’ drive from both Frigiliana and Nerja, the house lies behind a gated driveway at the end of a short private track. The front door opens into the open-plan sitting room / dining area / kitchen, all very attractively presented with the amenity of modern equipment -satellite TV, music system and open fireplace in the comfortable living area and in the fully equipped kitchen, a dishwasher, fridge-freezer, microwave, hob & oven. There is an external laundry room. On the ground floor, off the living room, there is a good-sized, prettily decorated twin bedroom and separate shower bathroom. The staircase rises to a spacious double bedroom, full bathroom (jacuzzi bath) and small private furnished terrace upstairs. The décor is attractive and colourful and high quality fixtures, fittings, lovely tiles, wooden beams and artesanal finishes have been used throughout. On the front of the house is a furnished shaded terrace, wrapping around the house, with a dining table in the shade of a lovely old algorrobo tree, a built-in BBQ and pizza / bread oven. The pool is on a terrace below the house, surrounded by an ample terrace with sun furniture. The house is very conveniently placed yet remarkably “away from it all” with wonderful, dramatic views up the river gorge to the high mountains and down the river bed to the sea. It is a sheltered house, tucked into the hillside: sunny, cosy and well-equipped it is also recommended for winter lets.
