It appears from the exterior to be ancient and simple, but is absolutely now in its sophisticated and minimal modern style. The property is situated some 12 minutes’ drive from Frigiliana, off the country road and a couple of minutes down a private surfaced track, in the fold of a valley with lovely views to the sea in the distance. Sturdy wooden double front doors open into an entrance hall: handsome Moroccan doors inlaid with mother of pearl open to the bedroom wing on the one side and the living accommodation on the other. There are two double bedrooms, two bathrooms and a further large, lofty bedroom with 2 single beds which can accommodate 2 further beds – making a great bedroom for 4 children or teenagers). The sitting room is in two parts, the upper part with an open fireplace, a huge, deep original stylish sofa and a music system; the lower part with L-shaped seating and folding French doors opening onto the cane shaded terrace with views to the sea. The dining room, with wood-burning stove, opens onto the shaded upper terrace where an enormous teak table and bench seating are provided for al fresco dining. The kitchen is state of the art with hand made tiles and excellent machinery - Smeg fan double-oven and wide gas hob, big Bosch fridge / freezer, dishwasher and washing machine, double sink with lots of light and good ventilation throughout. There is a separate, ventilated larder / laundry room and an outside drying area behind the house. The house overall is very well ventilated by skilled use of small windows cleverly placed to allow a flow of air to keep the interior cool in summer. Altogether there are 4 terraces leading down to the swimming pool at the lowest level where there is a marble dining table, sunbeds and the shade of olive trees, one of which conceals a delightful and original pool shower. The garden surrounding the house has been well planted with interesting trees, shrubs, flowers and herbs which are now well established. The property is surrounded by extensive private land and remains peaceful and secluded, yet not isolated at the end of the private track.
